Kenny Safrit is ready to step into a bigger role on
the Bulldog offensive line. The blocking of Safrit
and the Wingate O-line helped the passing game rank
first among SAC teams (and eighth in NCAA Division
II) at 273.8 yards per game in 2006. Also, the
Bulldogs were listed second in the SAC in total
offense per game with 342.7 yards per game last
year. Safrit played three sports at Elkton High
School, where his football coach was Bill Russell.
A football team captain his senior season, Safrit
earned three letters for the Golden Elks. He also
participated in baseball (three letters) and track
and field (one letter). Safrit’s father (Alan)
participated in track and field at Wingate and
Appalachian State. |
