Gary Tatum earned a spot on the pre-season All-SAC
first team offense. He was a second team All-SAC
honoree in 2006. Tatum was second on the Bulldog
team with 59 receptions, 753 receiving yards and
five touchdowns in 2006. He topped the Bulldog
charts with a 24.4-yard kick return average in 11
chances, including a 61-yard long against SAC foe
Carson-Newman.
In 2005, Tatum caught 15 passes for 269 yards and
three touchdowns. He was a member of the football,
basketball and track teams at South View High, where
his football mentor was Randy Ledford. As a
senior, Tatum led the Two Rivers Conference in
catches (65), receiving yards (1,068) and TDs (12).
He was All-County once and All-Conference twice
during his South View football career. His brother (Deonte)
played basketball two seasons at the University of
Hawaii. |
