Mary Green earned
many athletic and academic honors during a distinguished career
at Evans High School. She was a member of the golf, swimming and
volleyball teams at Evans. Green won the Knights Spirit of the
Game Award in women’s golf as a junior.
In volleyball, she
earned the Coaches Award as a senior. Green earned two letters
each in volleyball and golf and three letters in swimming.
In the classroom,
Green was a member of the Beta Club and the National Honor
Society. She served as president of both the Beta Club and the
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as a senior. A Who’s Who
honoree, Green was a member of the “A” Honor Roll at Evans.
Green was a very
active volunteer during her high school career. At Abilene
Baptist Church, she was involved in mission trips to New
Orleans, West Virginia and Tennessee. She was an Upward
basketball coach and Upward basketball and cheerleading camp
worker.
Green’s service
reaches beyond her neighborhood, as she helped organize and
collect clothes for Afghanistan refugees. She was also active in
Toys for Tots. Mary Green is the daughter of Donnie and
Charlyn Green. |
