Madi Welch scored seven goals for the Bulldogs in
her freshman season. She also tallied four assists,
totaling 18 points. Welch scored four match-winners.
Welch earned SAC Player of the week honors on two
occasions in 2006.
Welch joins the Bulldogs from Sun Valley High
School, where she was an honor graduate and teammate
of sophomore goalkeeper Kathryn Smith. Her coach was
Bill White. Welch earned All-South Piedmont
Conference honors four years in a row. She was
All-Union County first team as a senior. Welch was
team captain and Sun Valley’s Best Defensive Player
two years each. She played for the Charlotte United
Fútbol Club, state champions in 2005 and 2006. |
