FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do you offer athletic scholarships?
A: Yes.
Q: What are you looking for in a scholarship athlete?
A: Several factors are considered: Commitment to the sport, recommendation from coach, swimming background, versatility, and your times.
Q: How fast do your times have to be for a scholarship?
A: We start our consideration at the NCAA Division II B standard.
Q: What are the B standards for NCAA Division II?
A: One can get the times by going to the NCAA link on our site.
Q: If you do not receive a scholarship your first year, can you earn one the following year or years?
A: Yes, it happens often.
Q: Do you need certain times if you are not a scholarship swimmer?
A: No! We would like to know about you ahead of time, because we are looking for the same qualities from our non-scholarship swimmers: commitment, recommendations and swimming background.
Q: How many non-scholarship swimmers do you keep on the team?
A: The majority of the swimmers are non-scholarship, but they are recruited the same as the scholarship swimmers.
Q: Does the team go on a holiday training trip? Where?
A: Yes. We usually go to Florida, but we are looking into other areas.
Q: How many women will make the team?
A: With the program's short history, we have yet to make cuts relating to numbers.
Q: When is the best time to come on a recruiting trip?
A: During your senior year is a good time to visit. We recommend September, October, March and April.
Q: How do I learn more about the swimming program?
A: Fill out the student-athlete inquiry form on the website, and one of the coaches will contact you. Keep updated throughout the year by checking results on the swimming website.
