2006: Emily Odio was one of nine Bulldogs named to the 2007 South
Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Odio
missed the 2006 season due to injury. Her presence on
the Wingate sidelines in 2007 will be a big boost.
High
School:
Emily Odio earned numerous honors as an All-State setter
at Miami Killian High School. A 5-10 setter, Odio led
her troops to their first-ever state Final Four
appearance in 2005. She was voted team MVP in 2004 and
2005. In addition, Odio was a member of both the first

in 2005. In the 2005 season, Odio had 1,025 assists and
led her team in service aces. In the classroom, she was
ranked 34 out of 800 students and in the top five
percent of the senior class. Her father is the head

2006-07, Coach Odio and the Buccaneers compiled a 23-7
overall record and advanced to the NCAA Division II
tournament. Emily is the daughter of Cesar and
Mary Kay Odio.
Coach Collier:
“Emily
was forced to miss all of last season following wrist
surgery. After playing last spring, we learned she
needed an additionsl surgery, which she had this past
summer, so she will be out again this fall season. We
are planning to have her back this spring at 100
percent, and are looking forward to having her as one of
our setters.” |
